Tensions were high on Sunday morning in the lead up the all anticipated face off between rivalled FIDA football clubs Saint Albans VS Sunshine FC. Footy fans from across the lands came to watch a spectacle so rare it only happens every few years. The day has finally come for the Saints to defend their title on their very own homegrounds. For captain Elijah Firebrace and his fellow teammates, this isn't just a football match, this is a way of life, so there has never been more important time than now to defend their honour and make the community proud once more. With an all star team at Firebraces disposal, the opponents could only look on in fear, recognising such faces as Joe Zappelli, Matthew Fergussan Pattison and Andrew Muscat just to name a few. By the time this game is over, FIDA Sunshine football club will wish they never crossed paths with Saint Albans FC!
The first quarter kicked off in favour of the Saints, with team mates Jason Hickley doing some good marks, screamers from Firebrace himself, and crazy good kicks from Jason Lee. Sunshine FC as it were stood no chance against mighty courage of the Saints.
By the end of the fourth quarter Elijah had no choice but to call his people to a defence formation, as the opponents led by a staggering 26 points. Though all in all his team played admirably, so he was more than happy with the outcome just as long as people had fun and only the Sunshine players got hurt. Firebrace was so pleased with his own personal victory that he crowned himself Man of the Match, and fellow teammate Ebony Helen Woman of the Match.
