13 YEARS SINCE THE MIGTY ST KILDA STAR NICKY WINMAR MADE HIS BRAVE STAND AGAINST RACISM IN A FACE -OFF AGAINST COLLINGWOOD AT VICTORIA PARK. WE WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT OUR FIGHT FOR EQUALITY HAS BEEN WINNING IN CLOSING THE GAP .
IT WAS ALSO EQUALLY AS IMPORTANT AS IT WAS HISTORICAL when Swans super star Adam Goodes too made a stand in direct response to racist heckles from opposing fans. Although the the acts of racism were a national disgrace, it was a great opportunity to further battle against racism, which obviously still lurks in the shadows of our sport scene.
Adam Goodes made the right decision to do what he did, and thus inspired so many around the county to be brave and smite down racism dead in it's tacks when it happens. It's about time we all get over the the colour of our skin, at the end of the day the only skin colour we should be worried about is the color of our footy ball skins, and the colors of our flags we so proudly salute. Our diversity is what makes this country interesting. We should celebrate diversity and be extra proud of our origins be proud to practice our traditions in peace. I love everyone in Australia , no matter what your skin colour you're welcome to play footy with us here in St Albans!
